It’s an excellent adaptation
Chronology
In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the inevitability of their past and destiny. This is Netflix’s most expensive project in Latin America to date, with Colombian groups and indigenous communities creating the props and sets for the series.
We start with stunning photography, good script rendering, and creative direction with an approach that respects the original work
They also adapt the events of the book with commitment and use resources such as concept shots to complement the story. At the same time, it respects what Colombia is, as a nation and society, from an ethnic and cultural perspective.
Traditions, music, food, and racial diversity are part of the Macondo universe, as is the history that makes up the years of violent past in Colombia
This gives way to its chronology, which is perfectly intertwined, resulting in a product that is somewhat different in its content, but not in a negative connotation for the development of the story. It’s actually a work of great commitment and quite faithfulness, evoking the nostalgia of One Hundred Years of Solitude and the artistic influence it had on subsequent generations influenced by Latin American literature and the work of García Márquez.
No need to waste time endlessly scrolling – here’s a whole bunch of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month
